Girls' Education. Work of the Manchester High School for Girls
Description of Speech Day. This was the first time Manchester High School had held its own independent Speech Day, previously they had been held jointly with North Manchester High School and Pendleton High School. Prof Tout explained the reason for the decision to hold separate Speech Days. Miss Burstall commented on the school’s links with Manchester University and her experiences in America. The guest speaker was Sir James Hoy. He commented on the nature of girl’s education.
