Description of the history of the school written by Miss Burstall on the occasion of the school's jubilee. She commented on the impetus given to education by the 1902 Education Act and the growth of the school since she became Headmistress which she attributes to the establishment of the housewifery course. She also commented on development of science in the curriculum, the importance of sport and relations with Manchester University.
