Secondary School Notes. Training Women Citizens [From the Head Mistresses' Association]

Description of the conference of the Headmistresses' Association. Miss Clarke called for a "bold reorganisation of our curriculum and methods of teaching" in the direction of more practical subjects and commented on the success of the League of Nations Union at the school.

Also given are the views of Miss Martin, Miss Jones, Miss Moore, Miss Hargrave, Miss Lowe.

Miss Clarke gave details of the academic successes of unnamed girls, commented on the work of the Girls' Secondary Schools Employment Committee and condemned the view that girls' education should be the same as that of boys. She thanked Miss Burstall for the gift of a fire screen which she had made and which had 126,000 stitches.
