Report

There have been serious problems due to the two flu epidemics although fortunately no one died. There were 729 pupils in the summer term 1919 and to accommodate the extra numbers 24 Dover St has been temporarily occupied. The Board of Education has refused to allow the school to buy the Priory Estate in Didsbury and therefore the Day Memorial Committee has revived the plan to build a gymnasium.

"Grant - earning schools" are inspected every five years. Inspections were suspended during the war. The School was inspected in 1919 by Mr Fletcher and Mr G St. L Carson. General comments made on the number of pupils.
