The economy has so deteriorated that there is permission for only the first phase of rebuilding at Grangethorpe. The gym has been finished and despite "the phenomenal winter" and heating costs, it has proved a boon to the school. Temporary classrooms at Central Road are being used. There were problems at Broomfield because it does not have central heating. The lease on Warley ended in June and the school have bought it.
Thanks to Miss Pilkington and Mr Willink for their work for the school. Congratulations to Prof Charlton on his honorary degree [details given]. Regret at the resignation from the governing body of Mr A Gibson and welcome to Alderman Abraham Moss.
