In September 1948 the Ministry of Education gave permission for the completion of the rebuilding of the school. It has been decided to build according to the highest possible standards rather than to merely replace what had been built before the war.

1949 was the school's 75th anniversary. The speaker on Founders' Day was the Bishop of Manchester, Dr Grier. Quotation from his speech given which recalled the address given by Archbishop Temple. Miss F Harrison provided a card for every girl which included the quotation.
