This is the school's 50th year. A commemoration service was held at the Free Trade Hall. The Bishop of Manchester gave the address. There was also a presentation of an address to Sir Edward Donner, a hockey match, an old girls' party and a service at Manchester Cathedral [details given].
Brief summary of the foundation of the school and particular reference to the work of Edward Donner and Robert Dukinfield Darbishire.
Money is needed to build a sports pavilion, improve the playing fields and add another laboratory.
Regret at the death of Lady Charlotte Broadhurst who was a governor for 18 years.
