After the competition Miss Burstall gave permission for the girls to wear their "gymnasium dresses" in school. "Some 30 or 40 girls took advantage of this privilege but of late the custom has died off and scarcely more than half a dozen, besides the team, still continue. This seems to some a pity as the costume is healthy, convenient and certainly not 'uncivilized'. We hope that when the school has a recognised gymnasium dress that the girls will again wear it."
