Gymnastics

The third annual inter-form drill competition took place and was won by IV Upper A. The School Eight are G Bateman, E Spafford, W Bedson, M Fulton, N Flynn, D Barrow, D Hale, M Walker.

Molly Fulton won the Dixon Cup.

 

Golden Rule Society

It has been decided to make 1,000 items for charity this year.

 

The Masque of Time

The school has received a copy of the play, The Masque of Time by Hugh Mytton.

 

Basket Ball

The school has been divided into senior and juniors to play basket ball and Miss Willis has given a smaller version of the cup she has already given.

 

Captain Muir

Captain Muir of the Western Command visited the school and was particularly interested in Remedial gymnastics.

 

Dr Chisholm

Dr Chisholm has continued to give lectures to mothers on health.

 

Mock Election

A mock election was held [details given], the parties were represented by G Cocks, D Hale and A Scott.

 

Gift of Lancastrian Ware Pottery

Mr Burton has given 60 vases of Lancastrian ware to the school. They are made by Pilkington Potteries and have been placed in various rooms [details given].

Seniors' Miscellaneous Society

There was a whist drive which several mistresses attended. Miss Friend and the Cookery School provided ice cream. Prizes [details given] were won by Fraulein Kannenberg, M Rosenblum, Miss Ewart, G Entwistle.

At a meeting, members worked on Golden Rule projects. Miss Ewart read to them.

A meeting of games was held to celebrate the success of three girls in the Cambridge Scholarship Examination, Miss Ewart and Miss Nuttall were present.
