The Free Trade Hall Meeting
Speech Day was, for the first time, held without Pendleton High School.
Prof Tout took the chair and among the guests were Edward Donner and Miss Gaskell.
Miss Burstall spoke of the School's successes in scholarships. Prof Tout said that Miss Burstall's book on the history of the school had been published. The guest speaker, Dr Sheavyn said that school education must be liberal and it is different from the training which is needed for a career. Sir Charles Behrens and Mr E Broadfield gave a vote of thanks.
