The Manchester High School Bazaar
Description of the bazaar which was held to raise money for the Day Memorial Gymnasium. The opening ceremony was performed by different people on different days; by Lady Donner, Mabel Lady Crossley and Dr Phoebe Sheavyn. Mr Padmore and Alderman Turnball presided. Lectures were given by two old girls, Dr Byles "from China" and Miss E McDougall head of the Women's College in Madras. Funds have suffered because of the bazaar and the Society was not able to send a gift of money to India this Christmas but toys were sent to our orphans in Chinnapatna and to Dr Byles' hospital in China.
