Music
Miss Warburton has been awarded a B Mus degree from Dublin.
Miss Warburton wrote the music and Miss Lister wrote the words of a song called A Pageant Song which was one of the winning songs in the Salford Pageant.
At a combined parents' evening and concert the following performed: Miss Arthan, Mme Lamb, Miss Webster, Mrs Proudlock.
A group of girls went to see an exhibition of old instruments and heard a lecture on them by Mr Rushworth.
The Festival Choir competed in two festivals [details given] coming joint first in one and third in another.
Drama
The Dramatic Society performed Much Ado About Nothing.
Cadets
The Cadets went to camp in Normandy and hope to do the same again next year. To pay for this they and Miss Fisher organised a mock trial.
Visit
Miss Jupe and some senior girls went to the lake district as part of their work on Wordsworth.
Sport
The Under 14 cricket team won the Ladybarn Cup.
The Junior Netball team was joint winner of the Junior Netball Team League Shield.
The First Hockey team was joint winner of the Hockey League Shield.
The Cricket team won the Cricket League final.

"The Midland Society started in quite a small way with meetings at Miss Burstall's flat, 43 Friargate. After a time it was felt that a properly constituted society should be formed......The first official meeting was held at Wyggeston School, Leicester by kind permission of Miss Caress formerly on the staff of MHSG, on Saturday 5 October.......The second meeting took place at Birmingham University on Saturday February 8 when the Society was entertained by Miss Tait now a lecturer at the university and the third meeting was held in Derby when Mrs Lavelle [Evelyn Garnett] lent her drawing room for the occasion." There are about 50 members.
