Professor Tout
Tribute to the work of Prof Tout who has recently died. Includes the resolution of thanks by the governors. He was a governor for 30 years and for half that time was chairman of the governors.
Portraits
Philippa Esdaile and her sister Mrs Pickstone have presented the school with a portrait of Miss Day. Gretchen Tydeman has presented her portrait of Miss Burstall. They will be hung in the library.
Sport
The draining and levelling of the playing fields are finished. The Old Girls made a contribution to the cost through their Cake and Candy Stall in July. A party of girls from the hockey and netball teams of the States' Intermediate School in Guernsey visited the school and were the guest of pupils for a week
Midlands Old Girls
A new old girls organisation has been set up in the Midlands. It is hoped that the different organisations will be linked "in an organic way" in the future.

Speech Day
At Speech Day Miss Clarke spoke of the pioneering work which girls are doing and urged parents to allow them to take up work which is not usually done by women. The guest speaker, Dr Guy Warman, spoke of the new openings for women and hoped for co-operation between men and women.
Founders' Day
Mr P Oliver MP for Blackley whose mother was a former pupil was the guest speaker.
Activities
There were visits to an Efficiency Exhibition, a biscuit factory, an art exhibition, and a play [details given]. Girls from the netball and hockey teams of the school at which Rhona Barlow teaches visited the school.
Music
Girls attended a lecture of early keyboard music and various concerts [details given]. Details given of the programmes at lunchtime concerts. The performers were the following: Mrs Proudlock, Miss Davies, Miss Moorhouse, Miss Webster, Mme Lamb.

Three years ago Miss Bourne took a party of gymnasts to the Ecole Intermediare in Guernsey. This year a group of girls from the netball and hockey teams accompanied by Miss Naftel and Miss Barlow returned the visit. They were the guests of Miss Clarke, Miss Mellor and Miss Bourne. The Midland MHSG Society was formed in October 1929 and it now has over 30 members. The first meeting was held at Wyggeston Girls' Grammar School at the invitation of Miss Caress, Miss Burstall spoke of her activities.
