Mrs C P Scott appointed Secretary of the Preparatory School.

Arrangements for the annual general meeting.

Miss Didiez and Miss Mayer have been dismissed and Mlle Baret has been appointed to teach French.

The salaries of the following have been increased:  Miss Louisa Woodhead,  Miss Vyner, Miss Eves, Miss H Day, Miss Woods.

The site at Dover St has been secured for the new school.

Miss Livesey to remain a member of the Committee.

The Association for Promoting the Education of Women

Description of the AGM of the Association for Promoting the Education of Women. A discussion about the reluctance of Owens College to admit women students. Includes some comments about the position of women in society including women's political rights, a reference to Helen Taylor who had criticised her inability to be an MP and the comments of the following: Dean Cowie, Rev S Steinthal, Bishop of Manchester, Canon Woodhouse, Prof Wilkins.

Includes references to the following: Alderman Heywood, J Bremner.

Edward Donner describes the growth of the school, the inspection reports, the award of scholarships to Margaret Lomax and Annie Rayner and the plans to build new a new school.

The Committee recommends that the Cambridge Syndicate award certificates for teacher training and comments that this "might help the progress of the education of women."

Miss Day's "Scheme for Occasional Teachers" was adopted. A hand - written copy of this is glued into the volume.
